Our History at Mark's Hardwood Flooring LLC

Mark Strehlow first established Mark's Hardwood Flooring LLC of Omro, WI in 1990, specializing in refinishing original hardwood floors. In the following years, he expanded the company to include the installation of new hardwood flooring in residential and commercial projects.

Mark’s Hardwood soon became the go-to hardwood flooring business in the Fox Valley, WI area. We won the National Wood Flooring Association’s Floor of the Year award, and we were selected to restore the hardwood floors in a home designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.

In other words, we quickly became the premier option for hardwood flooring expertise with premium customer service and quality workmanship.

A Key Transition Point

In 2006, Mark met Sheila Pauls, who was working as a project manager for a multi-surface flooring company. After years of friendship and industry association, Mark chose to sell his beloved company to Sheila in 2023 in order to maintain the level of craftsmanship and integrity Mark’s Hardwood was known for.

Sheila has been in the construction industry since 2013, starting at a full-service construction firm. After earning degrees from Marquette University and Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, she gained experience and knowledge designing kitchens, baths, additions, and new construction homes. She has a deep love of historical architecture and has mastered the skills to repair the flooring in these special buildings.

When not at work, she can be found tinkering in her workshop or sketching ideas for her next home renovation project.

Looking to the Future

The past has been worth celebrating at Mark's Hardwood. Now, we are looking to the future.

Sheila, with the help of Mark and her family, hopes to grow the business into more than just floors, but many other types of wood surface coverings, and design services. We now work with wainscoting, accent walls, picture framing, and more.
